Yoichi Arakawa was the first one, who soundly "tabbed" Jim Croce for fingerstyle guitar. He graduated from Berklee College of Music and that's the best recommendation anyone can get. In 1994, Warner Bros. Publications published a songbook with 10 Arakawa-tabbed Croce songs that btw. took a look into Maury's guitar playing as well. Arakawa was founder of Six String Music Publishing, a sheet music publisher that doesn't exist anymore. But his ideas still show through in the tabs created by later transcribers, that followed (in) his footsteps, and I think it's only fair to give credit to the guy who started all this.
